Epistemology of Postmodern Cartographic Research and Engineering of Scientific Knowledge Building

The new technologies revolution has driven an epistemological rupture between modern and postmodern cartographic research. It fertilized a engineering of construction knowledge based on fivefold foundation: naturalist (descriptive epistemology), normative (prescriptive operational (experimental critical (radical epistemology) activist (epistemology activist). In practice, research is implemented from the paradigm syncretism with four postures: constructivist (qualitative variable), post-positivist (quantitative systemist qualitative variables) interventionist and/or variable). positioning here consists in adopting one these postures implementing its specific methodological approach. present study thus attempts to level deficit framing research, which innovates criticality, radicality activist-commitment, while perpetuating axiological neutrality rigor.
